Right from the start, you will gain practical experience through your own projects, earn money during your studies and acquire both business management and healthcare market-specific specialist knowledge at the same time. You will then be able to advise healthcare facilities, take responsibility for tasks in personnel, quality and change management and start your career as an operational health manager. Possible employers include hospitals, clinics, medical care centers, health insurance companies and commercial enterprises with their own health management.

In addition to your practical training, you will acquire sound economic, industry-specific and management-related knowledge in the dual study program. In specialization subjects, you will delve deeper into topics such as “Health sectors and healthcare”, “Basics of online marketing and social media”, “Project management in healthcare and social institutions”, “Hospital and social management business game” and “E-health and digitalization in healthcare”. Exciting elective modules also allow you to specialize individually. The selection includes “Digitalization management in the healthcare sector”, “Management of care facilities”, “Clinic and outpatient clinic management”, “Business psychology” and many more.

The prerequisite for admission is a general higher education entrance qualification, entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or an equivalent school-leaving qualification. You can also study at the IST University of Applied Sciences for Management without a high school diploma. For this, you will need a master craftsman's certificate, advanced training or at least two years of completed vocational training with at least three years of professional experience.
