The growing awareness of health is accompanied by the fact that the fitness industry is becoming increasingly important. As a result, professionally trained specialists who demonstrate personal responsibility, work in a customer-oriented manner and have valuable practical experience are in demand. The dual study program “Fitness Science and Fitness Economics” cleverly combines training practice and management. You will acquire important specialist knowledge, integrate the knowledge you have gained into your daily work routine and take on responsible tasks in the training company from the very beginning. You will develop fitness and health-oriented support concepts, create and improve individual training programs for your customers and take over the management of the training area, sales and central business activities in health and fitness facilities. You will expand your training portfolio with numerous licenses. Possible employers include fitness clubs, health centers, sports clubs, wellness and sports hotels and spa facilities. The doors to self-employment are also open to you.

You will acquire market-relevant training licenses at the beginning of your studies, allowing you to actively implement your skills on the training floor while you are still studying. This includes, for example, the B licenses “Fitness Trainer” and “Sports Nutrition”, the A licenses “Medical Fitness Training”, “Endurance Training” and “Performance and Health Diagnostics” as well as other practice-relevant licenses, depending on the elective module.

The prerequisite for admission is a general higher education entrance qualification, entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or an equivalent school-leaving qualification. You can also study with us without an Abitur. You will need a master craftsman's certificate, advanced training or at least two years of completed vocational training with at least three years of professional experience.

In order to study this dual course of study, you must have a company training relationship with a fitness or health-specific company. If you have other requirements or need support in choosing the right company, the IST University of Applied Sciences for Management will be happy to advise you.

The target group of the dual Bachelor's degree program “Fitness Science and Fitness Economics” includes school leavers who want to enter the fitness and health industry and industry experts who are looking for further professional development.
