Description


This Master's degree program provides you with a practical and practice-oriented qualification for management positions in various fields of competitive, top-level, amateur, fitness, recreational and health sports. The state-accredited degree from the IST University of Applied Sciences combines training and nutritional science knowledge with management-related basic knowledge in a flexible distance learning course. You will learn how to implement diagnostic and control measures with regard to performance, training and nutrition, how to carry out coordination, technique and sports psychology training as well as coaching and competition management and how to adapt your strategy to different target groups and types of training. After completing your studies, you will be able to take off in numerous clubs, associations, performance centers, sports facilities and as an self-employed trainer.

The Master's degree in Training Science and Sports Nutrition includes mandatory courses such as “Performance Diagnostics and Training Methods in Strength and Speed Training”, “Sports Anatomy/Physiology and Adaptation Processes”, “Training Planning” and “Regeneration Management in Sport” as well as exciting elective modules such as “Leadership Skills”, “Medical Training Therapy (MTT/aMTT)”, “Training in Childhood and Adolescence”, “Modern Nutritional Methods” and “Marketing & Sales”.

Requirements


In order to be admitted to the Master's degree program, you need to have completed at least six semesters of study in the fields of sport, training, health or nutritional science. Alternatively, you can provide evidence of a completed first degree with additional industry-specific qualifications and professional experience. For a first university degree in sport and training science, you will need ten credit points from nutritional science courses and for a first university degree in nutritional science, you will need twelve credit points from sport and training science courses. A B2 level of English is also required.

This program is aimed at Bachelor's graduates who would like to obtain an academic degree flexibly and while working, who are interested in training, health and nutritional science topics and who aspire to management positions in the sports and nutrition sector.
