The healthcare sector continues to grow in importance. If you want to qualify for responsible management positions in this diverse industry, the IST University of Applied Sciences for Management will provide you with the necessary specialist knowledge to set you apart from the competition on the market. The flexible Master's program teaches you exciting content from the fields of health, medicine and management and you have the opportunity to focus on occupational health management or sports therapy. In addition, through our cooperation with the German Association for Health Sports and Sports Therapy (DVGS), you can acquire numerous billable licenses and obtain the professional title of “Sports and Exercise Therapist (DVGS)”.

On this Master's degree course, you can expect basic management knowledge, in-depth specialist knowledge of the fitness and health industry and a wide range of exciting elective modules that allow you to tailor your studies to your personal interests. The general management modules cover the topics of “Marketing & Sales” and “Entrepreneurship”. Specialization subjects go into more depth on topics such as “Sports Education”, “Fundamentals of Exercise Therapy”, “Health Education/Health Psychology”, “Digital Care” and “Quality Management and Evaluation in Healthcare”. With the elective modules, you choose your focus and acquire up to 15 licenses and certificates. The selection includes, for example, “Exercise therapy: orthopaedics, rheumatology, traumatology, neurology”, “Medical training therapy”, “Training and nutrition in various target groups”, “Stress management/psychoregulatory procedures” and “Organizational health consulting”. Depending on your choice of modules, your Master's degree certificate will show a specialization in “Occupational Health Management” or “Sports Therapy”.

In order to be admitted to the Master's program at the IST University of Applied Sciences for Management, you need to have completed at least six semesters of study in the fields of sport, exercise or health science. Alternatively, you can provide evidence of a completed first degree with additional qualifications and professional experience in the fitness and health industry. You will also need ten credit points from economics courses and twelve credit points from sports science courses. An internship or work experience of at least three months in an industry-relevant company is also required. However, you can provide proof of this by the start of the 3rd semester.

The target group for this Master's degree course includes anyone who would like to complete a health and fitness-specific and internationally recognized academic degree in a flexible manner. It is aimed, for example, at Bachelor's graduates who aspire to senior management positions in the healthcare sector and wish to qualify for responsible roles in rehabilitation and therapy centers, medical facilities, health studios, sports clubs, government offices, authorities, associations, companies in the healthcare industry and BGM service providers.
