Do you want to get started in the sports business as a senior manager? In the Master's degree program at the IST University of Applied Sciences for Management, lecturers with 30 years of experience in sports management will provide you with the necessary specialist knowledge and important core skills. This will enable you to carry out strategic and operational tasks independently and enter the multifaceted industry as a sports manager. During your studies with us, you will benefit from valuable contacts with industry experts, 80 percent sports-specific content and maximum flexibility.

In this distance learning course, modules such as “Marketing & Sales”, “Entrepreneurship” and “Leadership Skills” prepare you for senior management positions with business knowledge. Modules such as “International Sports Economics”, “Strategic Sports Marketing”, “Sports Policy” and “Brand Management in Sport” make up a large proportion of the sports-specific content. This prepares you for the various facets of the sports business. The elective modules give you the opportunity to tailor your studies to your areas of interest and set yourself apart from the competition. The selection includes the exciting modules “Athlete Management in Football”, “Management of Major Sports Events”, “International Sports Systems” and “Strategic Sports Media Management”.

Requirements


To be admitted to the Master's degree course, you need to have completed at least six semesters of a business or sports management-oriented degree course or a first degree with additional industry-relevant qualifications and professional experience. You also need at least 30 credit points from economics courses, either from your first degree or from bridging courses. In addition, proof of an internship or professional experience is required by the beginning of the third semester at the latest - each lasting three months and relevant to the industry.

The Master's degree program is particularly suitable for anyone who wants to prepare for a management career in the sports business in a flexible and practical way. In particular, this includes employees in professional clubs, managers of sports clubs and associations as well as fitness and health facilities, sports scientists, competitive athletes and graduates of the Bachelor's degree in Sports Business Management.
