The Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, founded in 1992, is a public art school seated in Karlsruhe, Baden-Wuerttemberg. More than 400 students receive an artistic education based on four practical study courses and one theoretical study course at Diploma and Magister’s level. Prospective students are offered the Diploma courses “Exhibition Design and Scenography“ (subject areas: Exhibition Design, Scenography, Curatorial Studies, and Dramaturgical Practice), “Product Design“, “Communication Design“, “Media Art“ (subject areas: New Media, Digital Media/InfoArt, Photography, Sound, Film, 3D), as well as the Magister study course “Fine Arts and Media Philosophy“ (subject areas: Fine Arts and Media Theory, Philosophy and Aesthetics). Prerequisite to study at Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design is proof of one’s artistic and academic aptitude.
