The KiHo Wuppertal/Bethel, founded in 1935, is a church university with locations in Wuppertal-Barmen and Bielefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia. Round about 1,300 students are enrolled at the KiHo Wuppertal/Bethel. The scope of study offerings includes a theology studies program and a deacon studies program. The theology studies program comprises the subjects Old Testament, New Testament, Church History, Dogma History, Systematic Theology and Ethics, Intercultural Theology/Missiology and Religious Studies, as well as Practical Theology, leading to the First Theological Examination (pastorate), as well as to the degrees of Mag.theol., and Dr.theol. The deacon studies program is offered in the form of the Master degree course “Deacon Management“ (M.A.), and the PhD program “Deacon Studies“ (Dr. diac.). In addition, KiHo Wuppertal/Bethel provides the opportunity to obtain postdocotral qualification.
