The “Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education” program at Koblenz University of Applied Sciences is offered as a professional distance learning course with face-to-face phases with a total length of 7 semesters. In addition to teaching and processing pedagogical and developmental psychological topics, the main focus of the course also includes legal issues relating to childcare and the basics of quality and education management. Students are provided with skills that enable them to deal with their own professional activity in a self-reflective manner and to use approaches and methods of early childhood pedagogy specifically for further development in practice. Applicants must present a general higher education entrance qualification or technical college entrance qualification, proof of completed training as a state-approved educator and proof of relevant professional activity during the course of at least 10 hours per week in an institution for early childhood education, training and care or, alternatively, proof of practical professional access to a corresponding institution during the course.
