Description
The six-semester Bachelor of Arts degree program in “Archaeology: Europe and Near East’’ is provided by the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Five historical disciplines are intertwined in this course that are meant to provide education in past cultures in the area of modern Europe, Mediterranean region and the Near East. The disciplines in question are namely Prehistoric and Early Historic Archaeology, Provincial Roman Archaeology and Late Antiquity, Classical Archaeology, Near Eastern Archaeology as well as Byzantine Art History. By exploring all five historical areas, students are presented with a broad definition of research opportunities and interests. Graduates will be qualified to work in the fields on teaching and research as well as in museums, excavation companies or even journalism, cultural management and tourism.
