The doctorate program in “Bioinformatics’’ is provided by the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Usually with a duration of three years this course is geared towards postgraduate students who want to acquire new academic knowledge in the field of bioinformatics. In addition, they will also be required to work on the creation of a research project where they can apply the knowledge already acquired in a scientific manner. At the end of their studies, students will have to present their dissertation in front of a committee and pass an oral examination as well as to publish their work in an academic journal. Graduates will be awarded with the Dr.rer.nat. degree title.
