“General Linguistics’’ is a three-year doctorate degree program offered at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Here, students will gain the ability to deal with a doctoral project in an independent way. Throughout their studies, participants will be intensively supervised by one or more professors and thus receive constant support during their doctoral research. At the end of the course, students will have to present their scientific dissertation accompanied by an oral examination. The latter can be in the form of an oral defense or a broader oral examination.
