The doctoral course “History of Eastern and Southeastern Europe” is available at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. It aims to prepare young academics in the field of History of Eastern and Southeastern Europe. Participants select a dissertation topic relevant to their studies and a mentor to help them through the entire writing process. Doctoral students defend their dissertations in front of a committee at the end of the program. Applicants must have a completed Master's degree in order to apply. Graduates are awarded the Doctor of Philosophy degree.
