The doctoral program “Islamic Studies” at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich aims to train students to work independently on a scientific research project. Participants select a topic for their dissertation and choose a mentor to help them through the whole writing process. Students develop the skills to analyze different Islamic texts, use various methods and approaches and improve their social and problem-solving abilities. To apply, candidates must present a completed Master’s degree. Graduates obtain the degree Doctor of Philosophy.
