Description
The program “Master of Arts in Late Antiquity and Byzantine Art History” at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich runs over four semesters. The goal of the course is to concentrate students on the entire legacy of late antique and Byzantine culture. The syllabus includes Forms and areas of group-specific representation in Late Antiquity and Byzantium, State, Society and Representation in Late Antiquity and Byzantium, Forms of presentation and representation in late antiquity and Byzantium, Intention, Effect and Perception of Images in Late Antiquity and Byzantium and other subjects. To apply, candidates must present a relevant bachelor’s degree. Graduates start a career in education, journalism, cultural management, art preservation, museum or gallery administration, exhibit design, auctioning and other areas.
