The second stage state examination study program "Medicine" at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich is eight semesters long. The goal of the course is to train students to become scientifically and practically trained doctors capable of independent and responsible medical practice. The curriculum includes human genetics, hygiene, microbiology, virology, clinical chemistry, laboratory diagnostics, nephrology, urology, pharmacology, pathology, neuropathology, trauma, dermatology, ophthalmology, ENT, neurology and neurosurgery and other subjects. Applicants must have completed four semesters of the Human Medicine course at LMU and TUM in order to apply. Graduates are qualified to become high-level doctors.
