The diploma course “Orthodox Theology” at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich has a length of nine semesters. The program aims to provide students with specialist knowledge and methods in the context of current scientific and social discourses. The curriculum includes the subjects of History of philosophy and its main systematic problems, Introduction to the Old Testament and the History of Israel, Introduction to the New Testament and New Testament Contemporary History, church history, patrology, history of liturgy and hymnology, and fundamental theology. To apply, candidates must have a first professional qualification. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates receive a Diploma in Orthodox Theology.
