The doctoral program “Pre- and Early Historical Archaeology” at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich aims to train young academics in the field of Pre- and Early Historical Archaeology. As part of their studies, students must select a topic for their dissertation and choose a supervisor to guide them through the whole writing process. To apply, candidates must present a completed master’s degree. They defend their scientific dissertations at the end of the program, followed by an oral examination. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates receive the Doctor of Philosophy degree.
