“Tibetology” is a doctoral program at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. The study has a duration of three years and concludes with a Doctor of Philosophy degree. The aim of the doctorate is to prepare students for academic research and PhD thesis defence. Participants choose a dissertation topic to write related to Buddhism and choose a supervisor to guide them through the writing process. Throughout the program, doctorates develop in-depth research, analyzing, communication and problem-solving skills. The training is designed for postgraduates with a master’s degree in Tibetology.
