Ludwigsburg University of Education, founded in 1962, is a public institution of higher education seated in Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wuerttemberg that has the right to confer doctoral and post-doctoral degrees. In addition to its Ludwigsburg headquarters, the University runs a branch office in Reutlingen. Ludwigsburg University of Education currently prepares almost 5,600 students for professional activities inside and outside of schools. It accomodates three faculties: the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Cultural and Natural Sciences, as well as the Faculty of Special Education. Prospective students can choose between several Bachelor and Master degree courses in and outside of school contexts. Offered at Bachelor’s level are the teacher training courses “Primary School“ (B.A.), “Secondary School (Level I)“ (B.A.), “European Teaching in Secondary Education“ (B.A.), “Special Education“ (B.A.), the advanced course “Special Education“, as well as the study courses “Education/Lifelong Learning“ (B.A.), “Early Childhood Education“ (B.A.), as well as “Cultural and Media Education“ (B.A.). On offer at Master’s level are the degree courses “Vocational Education/Engineering“ (M.Sc.), “Education Research“ (M.A.), “Adult Education“ (M.A.), “Early Childhood Education“ (M.A.), “Cultural Science Management“ (M.A.), as well as sowie “Special Education“ (M.A.). Added to this are the part-time Master courses “Education Management“ (M.A.), and “International Education Management“ (M.A.).
