The seven-semester program “Bachelor of Arts in Social Work” at Lutheran University of Applied Sciences concentrates on social work and prepares social work educators to professionally assist individuals in overcoming social problems. The course includes counselling and the integration of arts, culture, and media in social work, extended theory, extended coursework in core theories, and case studies.  Students acquire basic knowledge in social work methodological competence, counselling, analytical, strategic, ethical and communicative competencies. Graduates could find career prospects in family and educational support, counselling, youth and adult education, intercultural social work, child and youth welfare, Social gerontology, Social rehabilitation, Rehabilitation, Community and urban development. Admission requirements are a general university entrance qualification, a university entrance qualification in a subject or an advanced technical college entrance qualification.
