The extension program “Digitalization in Medicine” at Medical University of Graz spans across 2 part-time semesters. The course aims to improve existing skills while also allowing for the acquisition of new knowledge and skills in the area of data/information literacy, which refers to the systematic use of data and information in medicine, as well as their analysis, visualization, and communication as the foundation for medical decisions and actions. Students are introduced to algorithmic thinking in medicine in particular so that they may use information technology to solve both general and specific medical concerns and problems and create effective and efficient answers and approaches. Entry requirements include admission to the medicine or dentistry degree program and successful completion of the required modules in the first 3 years of the medicine or dentistry program, a Bachelor's degree in medicine or dentistry or completion of a degree program in medicine or dentistry.
