The PhD program “Lifestyle-Related Diseases” at Medical University of Graz aims to investigate the pathophysiology of lifestyle-related diseases, elucidate how changeable factors like physical activity/fitness or dietary patterns, on the one hand, and unchangeable factors like genetic predisposition, are interrelated, and to provide insight into pathways through which chronic diseases occur. The students will gain knowledge of the basic principles of life science research, an understanding of the background of prevalent lifestyle-related disorders, and skills in the thesis's chosen special subject through combining research and teaching.
