The “Master of Arts in Applied Media and Cultural Studies” program at Merseburg University of Applied Sciences is with a length of 4 full-time semesters. It conveys a holistic media and cultural studies approach, that enables students to become active in the cultural or media field. Every semester, two project workshops are offered, in which specialist knowledge and practice are linked in a targeted manner. Media and cultural theory, Operational cultural management, Strategic cultural management, Media and cultural history, Media and cultural criticism, Cultural Policy / Political Education, Digital culture and other subjects are taught. Admission requirements include a first professionally qualified university degree in the field of cultural and / or media studies, but also in cultural and media education, art education, cultural work, media management or a related field, which corresponds to academic achievements of at least 180 points according to the ECTS.
