Description
The study program “Master of Education in Medical Pedagogy” at Medical School Hamburg can be entered by individuals motivated to further develop the skills they have already obtained during their Bachelor’s degree. The course of studies includes some new areas such as school development or some particular medical topics. Students are introduced to structuring competence-oriented teaching concepts and learn more about the correlation between the method of professional teaching and learning processes, teaching control, and teaching and learning objectives. They get acquainted with oncology, palliative medicine, palliative care, health pedagogy and psychology, health psychological diagnostics, as well as health psychological and pedagogical interventions. There is an elective module which requires students to make a choice between nursing sciences and health sciences. Studies also consist of economics, law and society, applied economics, micro and macro sociology, international relations, political theories and history of ideas, as well as didactics and methodologies. Graduates from this program can work at vocational schools, health care institutions as well as health-related media companies and publishing houses, and institutions of the health sector.
