The study program “Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy” at the Medical School Hamburg is suitable for individuals willing to learn what constitutes good physiotherapeutic practice, and examine the relevant theories and subjects which it is influenced by. Students are trained to obtain advanced technical skills in the fields of neurosciences and by way of the elective modules sports, medicine, rehabilitation, and medical pedagogy. Additionally, they acquire academic research skills and become acquainted with successful strategies of interdisciplinary team management. Not only are they provided with theoretical and methodological knowledge, but they are also given the chance to engage with resource-oriented therapy and health promotion methods. Students are given the task to investigate in a wide range of topics of physiotherapy. Some of the cross-degree modules include ethics in health and medicine and interdisciplinary team work in the health care sector. The course of studies requires participation in different projects and cooperation with experts from other professions.
