The study program “Bachelor of Science in Psychology with focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy”, offered by Medical School Hamburg, is directed at undergraduates with a relevant degree in Psychology and interested in obtaining top professional skills in the fields of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy. The course of studies covers effective decision-making strategies and responsibility skills, and enables to acquire advanced technical skills as well as scientific and methodological skills. Students familiarize themselves with important aspects of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, including psychological disorders, neurosciences, research methods, and medicine for psychologists. Besides, they are introduced to behavioral interventions, some initial foundations of depth psychological or psychoanalytical interventions, and interventions with children and adolescents. The program consists of core modules such as Quality Assurance, Quality Management, and Advanced Technical Skills, elective modules including Public Health, Intercultural Psychotherapy, Gerontopsychology, and Report Writing. Students can put their knowledge into practice and work in transdisciplinary teams through their participation in different projects. After their graduation, they can find a job in the areas of medical rehabilitation, counselling services, or work in hospitals, health centers, medical care centers, or ambulatory practices.
