The study program “Master of Arts in Historical Violoncello” offered at Music and Arts University Vienna provides a full-time Master’s course with a duration of four semesters. This program welcomes university graduates with a relevant Bachelor’s degree. The Master’s program aims to go in-depth with the special knowledge that participants have acquired during their previous academic education. In addition to mastering the use of the historical violoncello, students are also offered the possibility to receive academic training in the various stylistic approaches to examining early modern musical genres. Participants who lack sufficient knowledge of the subject matter could attend a preparatory module where the age of admission is 18 years and older.
