The study program “Master of Arts in Viola” offered at Music and Arts University Vienna provides a full-time Master’s course with a duration of four semesters. This program is an ideal continuation for Bachelor of Arts graduates who wish to deepen their academic knowledge in the use of viola. The Master’s program aims at the scholarly acquisition of practical and artistic competencies in the context of different stylistic eras. In addition, the program’s structure is designed in such a way that it integrates the five major topics in the field, namely ‘’Chamber Music’’, ‘’Orchestra, Contemporary’’, ‘’Historical and General Artistic Practice’’. Before being able to start the program, students must pass the entrance examination.
