The Norddeutsche Hochschule für Rechtspflege, founded in 2007, is a public university of applied sciences for judicature seated in Hildesheim, Lower Saxony. More than 250 students are currently prepared there for a career as a judicial officer in the Federal States of Lower Saxony, Bremen, Hamburg, and Schleswig-Holstein. The three-year study program is composed of a theoretical part and a practical part. While the theoretical part takes place at the premises of the Fachhochschule, the practical part takes place at a court or a public prosecutor’s office. Within the scope of the theoretical part, students are familiarized with the legal fundamentals required for the profession of judicial officer. In the practical part, they put the theoretical knowledge gained into practice. The study program culminates into a Diplom Rechtspfleger/in (FH) degree.
