The “Bachelor of Science in Midwifery” is a 7-semester program conducted in German. The curriculum consists of interdisciplinary courses with a focus on Biomedical Principles, Physiology and Pathology of Pregnancy, Gynecological Disease, Physiology and Pathology of Childbirth, Midwifery Support During Childbirth, Pregnancy and Childbirth Preparation, Women's and Family Health, etc. Additionally, students can take up elective modules and diversify their education. The BSc is application-oriented and aims to provide them with hands-on experience and key competencies. Furthermore, it promotes the development of soft skills needed for a successful career. Upon completion of the program, graduates are prepared for the challenging environment of the field and ready to assume positions in departments of hospitals or in midwifery-run facilities (birth centres).
