Nuremberg University of Music, founded in 1998, is a public school of music seated in Nuremberg, Bavaria. It provides an education in the arts and education to round about 390 students. Prospective students can choose between 50 Bachelor programs and 20 Master programs. The programs offered cover the following subject areas: Contemporary Music, Early Music, Brass Instruments, Elementary Music Education, Vocal Studies, Woodwinds/Accordion, Jazz, Piano, Correpetition, Music Education, Music Theory/Musicology, Orchestra/Choir/Ensemble Conducting, Organ, Percussion, Piano Accompaniment, String Instruments, and Plucked Instruments. Depending on the respective program, graduates of Nuremberg University of Music receive a B.Mus. or M.Mus. degree. Highly gifted students also have the opportunity to take part in a Masterclass program. Prerequisite to study at Nuremberg University of Music is the completion of an aptitude test.
