Oberursel Lutheran University of Theology, founded in 1948, is a state-approved ecclesiastical university seated in Oberursel, Hesse. It is sponsored by the Independent Evangelical Lutheran Church. The University provides an education in Theology to round about 30 students. On offer is the study program “Protestant Theology“, which either culminates in a Church Exmination or a Magister Theologiae degree. In addition to classical subjects such as Old Testament, New Testament, Church History, Systematic Theology, Practical Theology, the program also includes the subjects Missiology, Christian Social Welfare, Ecumenical Theology, and Philosophy.
