Paracelsus Private Medical University Salzburg, in cooperation with St. Virgil Salzburg, has designed the university course “Early Life Care” to prepare experts, ready to support families around pregnancy, childbirth and the first year of life. It also intends to create a much-needed network of professionals, involved in these stages of life. A variety of topics, competences and teaching methods are employed in the curriculum, in order to obtain advanced, qualified, comprehensive expertise in the field. Six, part-time semesters lead to the degree of Master of Science, structured in two levels. The three aspects of the studies – scientific, practical and socio-political, are built upon problem-oriented and problem-solving approach, social responsibility through ethical, patient-friendly attitude, and positive communication. A training contract is signed between the university and the students.
