The private ParacelsusMedicalUniversity (PMU) offers prospective students the Diploma degree program “Human Medicine”. It extends over a period of five academic years, brings 360 ECTS, and its graduates receive the title “Dr.med.univ.” The natural science modules in the first and the second year are followed in the next two by the clinical study period, and the final one is dedicated to clinical practice. Constant international networking, among European and American universities, competence exchange, close cooperation with the Natural Science Faculty of the Salzburg University, as well as the Salzburg University Hospital, Nuremberg Hospital and Georg Simon Ohm technical University, among many others, gives students the confidence and scientific support in building practical and academic skills for their future profession. Elective courses in Clinical Practice, Research and Theory are available to serve the individual interests and preferences of each student. Alongside natural science and its clinical practice, medicine is tightly linked with developing social and communicative skills, the capacity for individual research, and training for emergency situations. The selection process is three-stage, the curriculum is parallel to that of modern American medical schools. There is a merit-based scholarship available.
