Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) offers the degree program “Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy” in its Salzburg department. Foremost principle is the practice-oriented curriculum, where aspects of clinical pharmacy modulate the natural-science elements of the study. The market and healthcare relevance of the studies is also taken into account. The indispensable social and communication skills, patient and client relationships, and the ethical and moral competence are also embedded in the program, with due importance in the concise, three-year long period of studies, along with pharmaceutic chemistry, pharmacology and pharmaceutic technology. Inter-professional cooperation, a network of scientific and academic support, state-of-the-art facilities and constantly updated practices, with view of the international research and methodology findings, cooperation with national and international health institutions, among which the Salzburg University Hospital, all these add value to the program.
