The study program “Master of Science in Ecology and Evolution” at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg has a length of four semesters and is taught in English. It aims to research elements, structures, functions and changes in the living environment. The curriculum contains the modules of Theoretical foundations of ecology and evolutionary biology, evolutionary biology and biodiversity, ecology, free modules, free electives, master's thesis and commissioned master's examination. To submit, applicants must have a completion of a relevant bachelor’s degree. Graduates begin careers in research and teaching in university and non-university institutions, botanical-zoological gardens, museums, collections, nature and national parks, biodiversity documentation and management and sustainability and resource management.
