The program “Master of Science in Geology” at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg has a duration of four semesters. It aims to build on the already acquired knowledge from the undergraduate degree. The training provides modern geoscientific field, laboratory methodology, instrumental analysis, computer-aided data evaluation and quantitative modelling. The course content includes General geology and methods, Earth history and regional geology, Petrology and Mineralogy, Raw material geology and energy supply, Technical geology and other study topics. Graduates find employment in nationally and internationally active geoscientific consulting offices, authorities, oil, mining and construction industries, tourism, nature and environmental protection, political advice and national and international research institutions.
