The “Master of Arts in Islamic Studies” program at Philipps University of Marburg has a length of 4 semesters. Students are taught the history of Islamic religion, culture and ideas from early to present day Islam as well as interpretations of religious texts. The course curriculum includes Islamic intellectual history, History and culture of Islamic societies, History of the Iranian world and other subjects. A completed Bachelor’s degree and proof of Turkish or Arabic language are prerequisites for admission. Graduates are able to pursue careers in research institutions, adult education, cultural mediation and more.
