The ehb, founded in 1904, is a state-recognized institution of higher education seated in Berlin. It is clerically sponsored by the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia. The ehb serves as an educational, service, and research institution for health-care and social enterprises and institutions as well as for church and diaconal institutions. Approximately 1,300 students are enrolled at the ebh. The scope of study offerings includes six Bachelor and two Master programs. The Bachelor programs comprise the two dual degree courses “Nursing“ (Bachelor of Nursing) and “Midwifery“ (B.Sc), as well as the degree courses “Protestant Religious Education“ (B.A.), “Child Education“ (B.A.) “Nursing Management“ (B.A.), and “Social Work“ (B.A.). At Master’s level, prospective students can choose between the consecutive Master program “Leadership – Education – Diversity“ (M.A.) and the extra-occupational degree course “Master of Social Work – Social Work as a human rights profession“.
