The Protestant University of Applied Sciences Rhineland-Westphalia-Lippe, founded in 1971, is a state-recognized church university that is clerically sponsored by the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in the Rhinleand, in Wesphalia, and in Lippe. With 2,400 students qualifying for occupations in the social and healthcare sector, as well as in church education and social welfare work, it is Germany’s largest protestant university. The University’s portfolio of educational programs ranges from the Bachelor degree courses “Social Work“, “Inclusive Education“, “Nursing Science“, “Health and Care Management“, “Religious Education and Diaconia“, and “Early Education“ through to the Master degree courses “Social Inclusion: Health Care and Education“, and “Management in Private and Church-based Social Welfare Organizations“. Successful completion of studies leads to a B.A. or M.A, respectively. Moreover, within the scope of the “Bachelor and more“ certificate program, students have the opportunity to set an individual focus and gain additional qualifications.
