The study course “Master of Science in Psychotherapy Based on Depth Psychology” at the Psychologische Hochschule Berlin is a combination of current and classical state of knowledge, meant for those who would like to pursue a scientific practitioner’s license or an academic development in the area. The groups are small and the block seminars support the idea of a flexible, and at the same time, collaborative exchange-based academic training, which can even be applied to the preparation of a joint master’s thesis. 1000 hours of practice in the form of supervisions, treatments and self-awareness support the application-oriented aspect of the studies. The effectives of depth psychology, one of the four guideline procedures, recognized in Germany, has been scientifically and empirically proven. The intervention not in patients’ behavior, but in the internal image attached to painful memories, through the improved therapeutic experience itself, is what the psychodynamic therapy does. The enrichment of such processes works both ways – it helps patients, but also adds to the personal growth of the therapist. The seven-semester long course can be converted into the introductory one for research and further academic development, too.
