The “Bachelor of Arts in Textile Design/Fashion Design” program at Reutlingen University is with a length of 7 semesters, and includes a compulsory internship during the fourth. The main objective of the course in both areas is to learn the basics for developing independent collections in textiles, materials or fashion. It is about imparting practical and creative competence. Students are able to learn artistic and technical basics, textile design, visualization using CAD programs, fashion and design history. A wide variety of laboratories and workshops are available to students for project implementation via printing, knitting, weaving, sewing technology and laser cutting. Admission requirements include an Abitur, technical diploma or technical college entrance qualification. Interior textiles, Fabric collections, interior furnishings, Costume design in the theater, Design departments and model studios in the clothing industry, and High fashion design labels and fashion studios are just some of the sectors graduates can work in.
