The Rheinische Fachhochschule Cologne, together with medicoreha Welsink Unternehmensgruppe - a rehabilitation service provider in the area of Neuss and Cologne, has developed the “Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy” degree to help answer the necessity for rehabilitation specialists, and cover the shortage of such in the region. Through seven semesters, students work in an apprenticeship position and, after completion of the course, and the state exam, acquire the double degree – state-recognized Physiotherapist and Physiotherapy Bachelor of Science.  Scientific studies, within the practice integrated curriculum focus on competence in patient advice, communication, assessment, analysis and intervention in improving patient mobility and functionality. Evidence-based decision-making is the crucial skill to be developed in future graduates, who will become human wellbeing service providers. The theoretical studies are further supported by fulfilling a bachelor’s thesis in the last semester.
