The study program “Master of Arts in Criminology, Criminalistics and Police Science” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time mono-master course with a duration of four semesters. This program is targeted towards participants with an academic background in one of the disciplines of the social sciences or law enforcement. The theoretically-oriented approach of the Master program allows students to acquire scientific competencies about the challenges that professionals in the sphere face and, therefore, contribute to their application into real-life practices. Participants can choose from the following specialization modules: “Criminology”, “Criminalistics”, “Prevention”, “Police Science”, and “Sociology and Social Research”. After completing the program, students have gained the necessary academic expertise to pursue a career in civil services and social services, including the private sector.
