Description
The study program “Master of Arts in Economic and Raw Material Archaeology” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time combined master course with a duration of four semesters. This program is targeted towards participants with a Bachelor degree in archaeology or cultural sciences who would like to pursue a career in museums or other cultural institutions where knowledge of heritage protection is required. The Master program aims to provide students with the fundamental knowledge of academically examining a subdiscipline of archaeology from an economic perspective. Participants are provided with the opportunity to deepen their expertise in the subject matter by selecting a specialization module. Some of the topics that the special courses concern are, namely, the autonomous compilation and reflection of the current scientific position of the study of archaeology, as well as the scholarly understanding of historical and heritage-related contexts using the example of ancient cultures.
