The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Educational Science” offered at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who are interested in learning more about the academic methods and practices of examining education as a science. The multidisciplinary teaching approach of the Bachelor program allows students to scientifically investigate the occurrence of education, training and socialization as a phenomenon from a historical, psychological and socio-economic perspective. Participating in an exchange program with another partner university abroad at the end of the second year is strongly advisable. Some of the core specialization modules include “General and Historical Educational Science,” “Educational Psychology” and “Sociology of Education and Socialisation Research”.
