Description
The “European Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Democratisation” (E.MA) offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time mono-master course with a duration of two semesters. This degree programme is carried out within the framework of an interacademic project in which the Ruhr-Universität Bochum is involved together with the forty-one European higher institutions. This enables participants to spend a semester abroad at one of the partner universities. The aim of the Master’s program is to stimulate an active discussion about the role that the European Union plays in protecting the human rights of all its member states. Additionally, topics, such as the freedom of speech and the transition to a more democratic political regime are closely examined in the program.
