The study program “Master of Arts in Gender Studies - Culture, Communication, Society” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time combined master course with a duration of four semesters. For this program, a Bachelor degree in social sciences or cultural sciences is required, preferably with previous academic knowledge in Gender Studies. The Master program enables students to deepen their academic knowledge in gender theory concerning contemporary social problems, such as race, sexuality, gender equality and religion.  Participants are provided with the opportunity to analytically explore the core belief of the field according to which gender plays a fundamental role in shaping today’s modern society. Completion of a six-week internship at a related cultural institution is highly advisable.
