The study program “Bachelor of Arts in General and Comparative Literature” offered at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum public university provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who would like to build a career in libraries, educational institutions or archives. The Bachelor program aims at providing students with the academic examination of the interconnections between world literature and the culture in which we live. Some of the specialization courses include “Cultural Understanding,” “Literatures of the World” and “Interaction with Language and Literature”. Taking part in a studying program with an accredited university abroad with a duration of two terms is recommended. A prerequisite to applying for this program is language proficiency in three foreign languages.
