The study program “Bachelor of Arts in History” offered at the Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who would like to either pursue a career path in institutions in which academic knowledge of historical occurrences and their relevance today is required or those who wish to find employment in the educational sector. The Bachelor program aims to establish the groundwork for students to be able to scientifically study how societies have evolved and how major events have impacted the formation of the world we know today. Participants could choose to focus their field of investigation on one particular area, for example, “Antiquity, the Middle Ages, and the Early Modern Period,” “Individual Regions” and “Systematic Research”. Participating in both exchange programs abroad and internship programs is highly advisable.
